Had Fun at the Gäubodenvolksfest in Straubing

First of all, I would like to greet everyone happy holidays! I hope you are celebrating this season with love, peace and harmony. Have fun but be safe!

Last summer, I and my friends visited this festival known as Gäubodenvolksfest. It was my second visit and I am always loving it. After the Munich Oktoberfest, Gäubodenvolksfest is the second largest genuine folk festival in Bavaria. It is visited by over a million people, both locals and tourists worldwide.

“The Gäubodenvolksfest was founded by Maximilian I Joseph, King of Bavaria in the year 1812 as an agricultural festival to organize an annual meeting of the people in the Danube region.”

If you want to have fun this is the place for you to visit. There are various beer tents  at the festival area and from there, you can taste different beers  that are only brewed from local breweries in Straubing. There are live music  and entertainment   in every beer tent. Live bands   singing Bavaria folk songs can also be experience during the festival.  I am only wondering if  one  of these bands got their rocktron amp at Musicians Friend? This site is famous for selling music instruments and accessories of all kinds.

If you love  carnival rides and other attractions, you can experience a lot in this festival from Free fall tower to Horse riding, Bumper car, roller coaster, Star World (the biggest movable Indoor roller coaster of the world), Bavarian Big Wheel and more. Local foods and delicacies can also be tasted.

If you are visiting Bavaria in summer of  August, don’t miss visiting this festival.
